AdilanClub: Venomous romances: M'sian women too trusting with foreign men

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

A Pakistani man facing stress from joblessness and marriage in KL threw his two children down a highrise apartment before jumping to his death.

His wife, the children's mother, is a Malaysian.

While sympathising with her, I have to say she made a wrong choice that has culminated in this tragic event.

Lot of Visitors
You might say I sounded cruel. Those disagreeing with me would claim that not all foreign spouses behave this way and that foreigners must not be discriminated.

What they claim is theoretically true. As a matter of fact, there have been a fair share of cheating, drug trafficking and other vices involving foreign spouses, often ending in tragic destruction of otherwise happy families.

Since the day our government relaxed the entry permits, a multitude of African, Middle Eastern, Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals have flocked into the country by means of student visas or social visit passes. Of course, we also have many foreigners seeping in from neighbouring Asean states who don't hold any valid entry document.

Some who do not come here to study, travel or work, and who lack the basic skills to make a respectable living here, may find themselves difficult to survive in this country.

Nevertheless, if there is a Malaysian woman willing to stay with such people, these issues could be largely resolved.

If a foreigner secures this lifeline by way of wedlock, he will then be well taken care of from the aspects of economy, romance, sexual lusts, all the way to a residence visa.

Even if he does not have a job, his woman will take care of that, and in the event he is facing repatriation, the woman can apply a spouse visa for him, even citizenship.

This lifelong "policy" covers a lot of things at incredibly low premiums, so long as a Malaysian woman gives her nod.

Love is unconditional? Yes and no. Yes at the beginning and no after the marriage.

Foreign spouses have problems getting themselves assimilated into the Malaysian society. With cultural shock and not a job at hand, life could be a whole lot tackier than initially thought.

It will now be too late to quit the policy.

I have a question: Why are there so many Malaysian women willing to become underwriters for these foreigners?

When a local young lady sits inside the luxurious sports car of her African lover, does she ever find out from where he has got his vehicle? Or when she moves into a Middle Easterner's apartment, does she pursue whether he has a valid visa, or a family back home?

Perhaps she is lonely, and needs the gentle caress of a foreign man. Or perhaps love is just blind. But such romance often comes with an exorbitant price tag.
